Showing Off

While showing our tiny house off to our family we attracted a lot of attention from the major highway they live near.

First Road Test

We are so excited about our progress on our Tiny House we just have to show her off to our friends and family. So our "Leony" gets her first road test. She handled like a dream and looked beautiful as she made her way down the road.  She surely is a show stopper.

Hardie Board Siding Goes Up

11/3/2010 Today we are installing the hardie board siding.  This is concrete siding that can endure all climates. Each board is individually placed then screwed on and then caulked into place. This siding isn't going anywhere as you move your house to your dream view. Hardie board siding gives you beautiful protection for your tiny home it gives you the look of wood grain siding (unlike wood siding it is impenetrable to any kind of climate-related damage). Also, because hardie board siding is constructed with concrete fibers it is impervious to any external elements, such as rain, hail, wind, flying debris, and humidity. Because of its strentgh not only will cement board siding not chip, but it doesn't retain moisture either. Therefore, your siding will never rot or swell. Hardie board siding defends against most insects, such as termites, that can eat away at wood siding. This is helpful in southern climates where moist air and pests thrive all year long.  Because hardie board is made of concrete fibers it is even fire-resistant, giving you tiny home further protection from any exterior threat.

To Top It Off

10//25/2010 Roof construction begins. We begin with custom trusses, then sheet and metal the roof. The metal is 26 gauge metal.

Our Tiny House Starts To Take Shape

10/22/2010 The walls are going up. This is where are dream starts feeling real. We see the tiny house we've envisioned for years finally start to take shape. This is the "Leony" model. She will house a full bath, including a regular toilet and full stand up shower. There is a spacious loft that will comfortably fit two adults. Follow us as our Little Leony takes shape.

Work Starts Right Away

10/20/2010 Flatbed trailer arrives and we get right to work. We can't wait to see our beautiful tiny house finished. Thankfully we ordered our materials and they arrived the day before the trailer did. So we don't have to wait we go  right to building up our foundation and use reclaimed insulation on the floors. That is covered over by plywood sheets.

Our New Endeavor

Please join us on our journey with our new endeavor of building Tiny Houses. We are so excited about building perfect little dream houses. We are in the middle of constructing our first Tiny House Model Leony. We aren't new to the building industry. We have over 25 years experience in building residential homes, but now we are tackling putting all our house building knowledge into building beautiful tiny houses. These houses will have all the comforts you want in a large sq footage home, but these houses are mobile so you can take your house with you on vacation, camping, hunting, or you can even live in it fulltime.
